Membership&Drop in Policy

Welcome to Trace Ceramics Studio! We are delighted to have you as part of our creative community. This policy outlines the terms and conditions of membership to ensure a clear, fair, and enjoyable experience for all members. Please read the following carefully before confirming your membership.

1. Options & Fees

We offer a range of membership options to suit your needs: Monthly Membership and Drop-In Access. All members receive friendly support and guidance from our studio technicians.

• Monthly Membership fees do not include clay. These are available for purchase in our studio. We offer over 25 textured glazes, Amaco underglazes, and underglaze pencils for you to choose from.

• Firing Temperatures: Bisque firing at 950°C, glaze firing at cone6(1220°C).

• Extra Firing Fee: If your work requires more firing than what is included in your membership, we will assess any additional firing based on the size of your pieces and let you know before firing. For example, a standard 250 ml cup typically costs around £4 to fire.

2. Payment Terms

• Subscription Memberships (3 Months, 6 Months): These operate on a monthly automatic payment basis. After your initial payment, we will automatically charge your authorised payment method at the start of each billing cycle until the end of your subscription term.

• Short-Term Memberships (2 Weeks, 1 Month): Full payment is required before your membership start date.

• Drop-In Access: Payment is made as a one-time purchase and must be used within the validity period.

3. Studio Use & Guidelines

• Opening Hours: including cleaning time

  Monday 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM

  Tuesday 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM

  Wednesday 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM

  Thursday 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM

  Friday 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM

• Booking: To ensure a quality experience for all members, please confirm your weekly schedule with the studio at least one week in advance.

• Capacity: To maintain a comfortable working environment, we accept a maximum of 10 members per month.

• Cleaning Responsibilities: All members are expected to clean their workstations after each use and help maintain the studio's tidiness.

• Personal Belongings: Please collect all personal items and work within 4 days after your membership ends. The studio reserves the right to dispose of any uncollected items.

• Using the Studio: Members must adhere to all studio rules and treat fellow members and staff with respect. If a member disrupts studio operations, fails to follow studio guidelines, or engages in inappropriate behaviour, the studio reserves the right to terminate their membership immediately. No refund will be issued for any fees already paid.

4. Cancellation & Transfer Policy

We understand that plans can change. Below are our policies regarding membership changes:

Early Cancellation for Subscription Memberships (3 Months, 6 Months):

If you choose to cancel your membership before the end of your subscription term, you will be required to pay the difference between the discounted rate and the standard monthly rate (£275/month) for each month already used.

For example: If you purchased a 3-month membership (£265/month) and wish to cancel after 2 months, the amount due would be: (£275 - £265) × 2 = £20.

Transfer Policy

6-Month Membership: You may transfer your remaining membership to a friend. To arrange a transfer, please contact us via email with the recipient's name and contact details, and we will assist with the process.

Other Membership Types: 2-week, 1-month, and 3-month memberships, as well as all Drop-In Access packages, are non-transferable.

Suspension Policy

Once a membership has started, it normally cannot be suspended.

As a small flexibility, 6-month members may take one break of up to two (2) weeks during their membership period. Please let us know in writing at least one week before your planned break.
