Zaynub is a potter based in London, and is primarily a wheel-thrower. After completing her BA in History at King’s College London, Zaynub attended her first pottery class and fell in love with the medium. She is now at University College London studying for her MA to specialise in archaeological ceramics, and her close work with prehistoric pottery inspires the forms that she makes.

Zaynub believes that we must deepen our relationship with the objects that we use everyday and as such they should be built with care, affection and quality. She works primarily in stoneware and makes tactile vessels which allow clay to express its natural traits. She believes that anyone can become a maker, and by doing so we bring beauty into a world ruled by sterile mass consumption.
